Chops Steaks, Seafood and Bar is a high-end, nationally franchised steakhouse equipped with a full bar. It is located across the street from the south entrance to the State Capitol and thus is a favorite spot for Capitol denizens. You're likely to see elected officials conversing about legislation or lobbyists planning their strategic next moves. The atmosphere is comfortable and the lighting dim. The bar has a small lounge area with couches, and an outside patio area has seating for at least a few dozen people. The restaurant also features a private dining area downstairs, where large events and occasional receptions by various advocacy and lobbying groups take place. Be sure to check out the restaurant's meat locker, where their Midwestern corn-fed prime dry-aged beef is stored. Valet parking is available.
