A British themed pub, Fox and Goose has become a Sacramento institution. Located on the corner of 10th and R Street in the heart of the soon-to-be revitalized "R Street Corridor," the pub is as famous for its weekend brunch as it is for its frequent musical offerings. The Fox and Goose has won Sacramento News & Review's "Best Breakfast in Sacramento" award for several years. Its breakfast fare is hearty, but different varieties of tofu scramble are also available.

2007-05-03 21:47:19 If you go, be sure to get a scone with devonshire cream (aka clotted cream)! Oh.... my... god... it's so good. Better yet, skip the scone and just order a bowl of that stuff. —CharlesMcLaughlin
2007-05-06 11:28:10 Their ollalaberry scones with the devonshire cream are so delicious that I had to second the first comment about them. Holy [insert deity of choice here], they're more than worth the 1 hour plus weekend morning wait times! —Sarah

2005-08-08 08:33:47 Good breakfasts, just be prepared to wait a while for a table. —RogerClark
2006-02-23 17:59:07 Their breakfast is good, but for vegetarians nothing you can't get at Delta of Venus and the wait on weekends is RIDICULOUSLY long (like an hour and a half when I went there for a table for 3). However, their scones with Devonshire cream are worth the wait—every once in a while. —ErikNoftle
They have open mic nights. It's rumored that many Sacramento bigwigs (judges, legislators) frequent the Fox & Goose because it's far enough from the Capitol to be a change of scenery & less known to tourists who might go on a political rampage. —DomenicSantangelo

2008-05-23 22:17:25 This place is great. You'll wait 3x longer on a Sunday than a Saturday, in my experience. the devonshire cream is amazing; on scones, on fruit, on sausages. Mmmm. I've tried everything on the menu over the past 13 years (even the kipper - it has eyes!) and I haven't found anything I didn't like. Favorites: tofu scramble with pesto; bangers and eggs, eggs Benedict Arnold.
