The Carl Johnston Community Center was remodeled in 1993, and is located adjacent to the Carl Johnston Park. Named after Carl Johnston, founder of North Sacramento, the surrounding land was donated on his behalf by the North Sacramento Land Company and was annexed to the City in 1964. Various social programs are offered on a continuing basis. A small activity room which can be divided from the main room, and a kitchen are available. There is a small parking lot as well as on-street parking. It now features two rooms, both available for rent for activities and meetings. The community center offers a kitchen, which contains a stove, dishwasher, and 3 stainless sinks. The use of refrigerator is permitted upon request. The kitchen also has a serving counter with roll-top door. There are also a PA system and coffee pot which are available upon request. The two rooms in the community center are:
- Meeting room: The meeting room is best for large meetings, activities, classes, banquets and receptions. (Square feet: 2300)

Craft room: The craft room is best for small meetings or activities, and features the only entrance to the outdoor patio. (Square feet: 550)
