Lucca is a popular Midtown Italian restaurant—more northern Mediterranean, actually—serving lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. There is an attractive bar, with the requisite big-screen TV, in the main room. The menu is seasonal, although favorites persist. Even though the dessert menu isn't extensive, it's varied and the items are well-chosen. The wine list is comprehensive and equally well-chosen.

2009-01-06 20:58:17 We had our company Christmas lunch at Lucca— the seating was prompt and the service was okay. I randomly ordered the grilled Portobello mushroom and fries which isn't something I would normally order, but since I was one of the last people to arrive, I was pressed to make a decision. Unfortunately, while it was okay (it was what one might expect when ordering a portobello burger), I wished I had ordered one of the specials or something a bit more fulfilling.
After, while others ate yummy looking desserts, I had a latte. The layer of grounds at the bottom of the cup made me wish I had ordered something sweet.
I won't make any decisions about the restaurant until I come back for dinner because, as a server, I know that lunch service is always a bit pressed and a lot frantic. Overall, my lunch experience was ho-hum —jess&will
2009-07-26 17:21:54 I got the salmon on pesto risotto, and it was the best salmon I have ever had in my entire life, and I've tried a lot of salmon in my day. We also got some fried zucchini chips they were extremely good too, and a bit addictive. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. —TagRidings
