Amateur Sports
The City of Sacramento offers a variety of Adult Sports Leagues for those seeking to engage in recreational and competitive sports. All games take place at city sites and are organized by the Department of Parks and Recreation. Sports range from Baseball, to Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. Registration can be done online at The Department of Parks and Recreation. Many sports are not organized through the City, of course, and not all are even organized at all - you can start running, for example, without any coordination at all!
In a city the size of Sacramento, you can expect quite a wide range of sports and recreation. Engaging in a sport is a great way to stay healthy, meet people, and have fun.
For sport-specific gear, see the sport pages below. For general sporting equipment, see Recreational Equipment.
