Description of Work
Adrienne Rich is an activist and poet who has written many volumes of poetry, as well as a variety of nonfiction works that deal with everything from political subjects to essays about art and writing. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1952 at the age of 23, and in 1997 she was awarded the National Medal of Arts, which she refused.
