On the way to the beach this is the first sign that shows Beach Rd. In Watsonville,

West Beach Street goes southwest from Main Street (towards the coast), and the name changes to Beach Road. Beach Road in Watsonville starts at Thurwachter Road and continues southwest to Palm Beach where it dead ends. Just before the end of Beach Road is the entrance to a gated community.

No bike lanes but the road is smooth and level. It is part of the Pacific Coast Bike Route in Santa Cruz County.

Public Transportation

No bus service on this road.

Built in 1912, towers like this one, supported water tanks. The water was used to wet the road to control the dust. Before the roads were paved in the 1950's it was a major problem. Palm Beach is at the end of Beach Road Tank towers.
