Maple Falls

Bridge Creek is a stream flowing to Aptos Creek. It starts near China Ridge at about 1,400 feet. The entire creek is within the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park. Maple Falls is a prominent feature of the creek. There is also an excellent area where fossilized mollusc shells can be found in the creek bed where the Bridge Creek Trail crosses it, about half a mile away from Loma Prieta Grade.

Bridge Creek Historic Site is a small site along the creek on the Bridge Creek Trail.

Bridge Creek Trail follows a segment of the creek to Maple Falls.

History

The creek gets the name because of an early bridge across the ravine. A bridge is marked on maps as old as 1863.
