Still fondly remembered for playing regularly at the Cooper House and filling Pacific Avenue with the wonderful sounds of his vibes, Don McCaslin played weekly at The Wharf House restaurant in Capitola with Warmth until 2010. He currently plays with the Amazing Jazz Geezers at Severino's Bar & Grill in Aptos on Thursdays. In 2010 McCaslin revived the musical production the nazz: a Jazz bebop musical, inspired by Lord Buckley's New Testament stories about the life of Jesus, which he wrote and was originally performed Easter week in 1987 with McCaslin as band leader. His son is New York based saxophonist Donny McCaslin.
