religious and intellectual freedom and a denomination committed to justice and |
human rights. As an Open and Affirming Church, we are gay and straight, black |
and white, Asian and Latino, young and old, male and female. We celebrate the |
gifts of all for ministry and service. |

The first Congregational Church is active in the community, hosting The Interfaith Satellite Shelter Program (ISSP) which provides shelter for those without a home and participating in Santa Cruz's Gay Pride Parade for a number of years. The church has been an Open and Affirming Congregation for 10 years.
