Mike Rotkin has taught at UCSC for over 40 years, and has served six terms on the Santa Cruz City Council, which is the longest anyone has served on the council. He was appointed Mayor of Santa Cruz in 1981-82, 1985-86, 1995-96, 2004-5, and 2009-10.
