Introduction

New Leaf is a chain grocery which also has another location off of Mission Street on Fair Avenue, as well a store in Capitola, and most recently in Half Moon Bay. They specialize in organic, free-range, sustainably raised, locally grown foods, and also carry items specifically for certain diet types (such as vegan, macrobiotic, gluten-free, etc.). However, they also carry some conventional and / or imported foods. A peak inside the Pacific Ave entrance

Bulk Foods

New Leaf has a large selection of bulk foods, such as grains, cereals, tofu, eggs, herbs, snacks, and more. Most of the bulk items are located next to the produce section, but herbs and spices have their own designated area next to the deli. Tofu and eggs are in the refrigerated cases.

In 2013, New Leaf was acquired by New Season Markets.

In January 2020 New Leaf is now owned by Good Food Holdings, part of South Korea’s Emart retail group. Good Food Holdings also owns Bristol Farms and Lazy Acres markets in Southern California and Metropolitan Markets in the Pacific Northwest.

Supporting the Santa Cruz Community

New Leaf has instigated a number of programs which benefit varying facets of the community.
