Mission Statement |
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UCSC is a community of men and women from diverse educational, occupational, and geographic backgrounds who are devoted to the pursuit of learning. The members enjoy spirited discussion, reading, and exploring new interests. |
Our group’s mission, beyond the social and education benefits to our membership, is to fund scholarships for “re-entry students,” older students who have not been in school continuously since graduating high school. They may have served in the military or be at another stage of life. We are associated with STARS, Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students. Their webpage is at http://stars.ucsc.edu/. |
Location |
Our members gather on the third Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Stevenson College Event Center on the UCSC campus to socialize and hold a general meeting. At 11:15 we hear our speaker, typically a UCSC professor, and we adjourn at 12:15. |
