The Santa Cruz Public Library system serves Santa Cruz County and outlying areas. Residents of Santa Cruz county may obtain a library card at no cost and borrow materials for varying lengths of time, with many items available for renewal. The Watsonville/Freedom Libraries, the Soquel Porter Memorial Library, and the Ben Lomond Library are not part of the Santa Cruz Public Library system.
