Description Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) went from sharing a condemned house in Watsonville in the late 1990s, when the band first formed, to raising $150,000 for a house to be built for a family that was displaced in New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina. The instrumental band has enjoyed enormous popularity, with headlining gigs at venues such as the Greek Theater in Berkeley.
