The new Soquel Avenue location opened February 15, 2011, moving from it's old location at 1305 Water Street (which closed on February 11, 2011). Besides being a bigger and "green" store with more parking for cars, they also included a large covered bicycle parking area with air & water station, and some electric car charging stations. Former businesses at this location was Pacific Coast Enterprise (an automobile dealership), and the original location of Safeway (before the Morrissey Boulevard store was built).
