The Student Environmental Center is a Registered Student Organization at UC Santa Cruz, founded in 2001.

Our mission is to organize student involvement at UC Santa Cruz, to collaborate with the University to implement environmentally sound practices on campus. The SEC serves as a central space for existing student environmental organizations, and encourages the development of new projects.

We have campaigns including: Wind Power Waste Prevention Students for Organic Solutions Green Building Transportation

Our sister program is the Education for Sustainable Living Program We are funded by student fees managed by the Campus Sustainability Council We work very closely with the UCSC Sustainability Office Every year in Winter quarter we host the Annual Campus Earth Summit. 2009 was our 8th Earth Summit.

Our General Gatherings are every Wednesday at 6:30pm at the College 8 Student Commons, the red building at the foot of the plaza. For more information check out:
