Description of Work
The 98.6 feet by 26 feet mural commemorates the former airport known as Skypark in Scotts Valley. After the initial layers were painted, volunteers were asked to paint the drawn renderings using specific colors. In this manner, even untrained people could contribute to the mural. As of 2013 there are several part of the drawings that have yet to be completed. The "Mural in a Day" project was held for two days to get as much done as possible. The mural cost was about $10,000.
Skypark area is now used for events such as concerts, fire works, and fairs.
