The Asian Art Museum is located in the former San Francisco Main Library building. It has one of the largest collections of Asian Art in the Western World.
The museum used to share the same building as the old de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, before that building was demolished to be rebuilt.
Beginning in May 2008, admission will be free on the first Sundays of the month. Check out a free family pass from the library through their Free Family Adventures program.
