FasTrak is a prepaid electronic toll system that Bay Area commuters use to avoid having to wait in line for toll booths and dig through their wallets and cars for cash. Instead, a transponder on the car's or motorcycle's windshield sends a signal to an overhead antenna and the driver can cruise on through the toll plaza, assuming traffic is moving at cruise speed.
FasTrak is available on eight Bay Area bridges:
- Bay Bridge
- Golden Gate Bridge
- Antioch Bridge
- Benicia-Martinez Bridge
- Carquinez Bridge
- Richmond-San Rafael Bridge
- Dumbarton Bridge
- San Mateo Hayward Bridge
FasTrak can also be used to pay for parking at SFO Airport, and perhaps others.
