You thought Lucky was gone forever. Surprise! Lucky is back and better than ever. Bay Area stores were sold to a smaller grocery chain which revived the Lucky name. Stores were repainted with retro Lucky colors and re-branded with classic Lucky Logos. Employees donned new uniforms and Lucky's Three's A Crowd program returned. Prices were reduced and the new management hopes to restore Lucky back to its tradition of quality and service.
The stores feature Coinstar machines where you can turn your loose change into gift cards without a fee for Starbucks, iTunes, Amazon.com, and more! Starbucks closed their kiosks in Lucky stores in 2008. The deli at Lucky now serves Pacific Coast coffee.
Lucky stores also feature Redbox DVD rental machines that offer movies for $1 per night. Blu-ray discs are $1.50 per night. Video game rentals are available at some of their machines.
