Suppenküche is a German restaurant located in Hayes Valley that specializes in Bavarian dishes, as well as beer. (You can get it in a 2-liter boot glass!) Diners are seated at plain pine tables with other parties and are fed tasty rye bread while they wait for their meals. Most dinner entrees, such as the spätzle, pork chop and meatloaf, are between $10 and $15. Sunday brunch ranges between $7 and $10, and offers dishes such as gravlax, bread dumplings and potato pancakes. Vegetarians beware: There are only two meat-free items on the dinner menu, and while the brunch/lunch menu is more promising, the outlook still looks grim.
