The SFSU VITA program

This program offers FREE tax preparation services to individuals with low incomes (Less than $66,000) who cannot afford the services of paid professional tax preparation as well as to the elderly with limited English proficiency and individuals with disabilities who require assistance in preparing their tax returns.

Due to COVID-19, VITA's services are online only, but when schools begins to open up in person, they will update their site. Dates of Operation:

Every Spring semester, it changes in specifics depending on when tax season begins. For 2021 it was February 9th to April 10th. They are closed during Spring Break

Weekly Operation Hours: 

Sunday and Monday: Closed

Tuesday-Friday: 12p.m - 6p.m

Saturday: 9.30a.m - 4p.m

Technology Required:

Access to the Internet is needed as well as an email account to file taxes. A smartphone is highly recommended to receive text message updates regarding status of tax returns. You will be required to answer questions and upload tax documents. Once they are received, you will be contact by clients who will aid you in the filing process.
