Best known for their gadget "tear downs," iFixit is a business that was launched in the dorms at Cal Poly in 2003, by Kyle Wiens and Luke Soules. Since 2003 iFixit has grown considerably, and has become the industry-leader in electronic repair documentation, remaining a fixture on Inc's fastest-growing companies list since 2009.
iFixit's mission is to "fix the world, one piece of hardware at a time," and they do so by creating and hosting open-source repair documentation, and producing how-to repair videos. They fund their mission by selling repair parts and tools in their online store.
