Winter Parking season in Placer County runs from Nov. 1 - May 1.[1] Parking is prohibited on roadway shoulders between these dates as defined inCounty Ordinance (Chapter 10, Article 12, Part 1). The purpose of the winter parking regulations are to:

  • Reduce chance of damage to vehicle by snow removal equipment
  • Prevent slowing of snow removal operation

Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed/fined and/or towed. Don't assume the outside edge of berm is edge of roadway - snow will be removed to the stakes. This Placer County Code is in effect whether snow is on the roadway or not. [2]
