On Good Friday 2009, a 3 Alarm fire broke out at 804 Bloor Street West in the Christie Pits Neighbourhood.
No one was hurt. 18 fire trucks were on scene.
The first fire crews arrived shortly before 4 p.m. finding Lui's Electronics, a car radio repair shop, on the ground floor in flames, and heavy smoke billowing from apartment units on the second and third floors.
From Bloor Street , it appeared the fire was confined to only the 804 Bloor buiding, but walking around the back to the laneway connecting Crawford and Shaw Streets, one could see flamage from the adjacent apartments.
The fire appears to have started in one those rear decks.
Residents of the 2nd and 3rd floor apartments were visibly shaken up, huddling across the street along the south side of Bloor. They were evacuated promptly by fire crews along with residents of neighbouring homes.
