The Toronto City Council runs the show here in Toronto. The city is governed by a 44 member council elected on the ward system (unlike other cities, we have no at-large councillors), plus the Mayor. Elections are now held every four years, the next one being in 2010.

There are also Committees of Council which include four Community Councils, Standing Policy Committees, The Executive Committee and others.
