It begins life as the Queen Elizabeth Way and upon reaching Etobicoke from the west, the name changes to The Gardiner named after Frederick Gardiner.
It cuts through the south end of the downtown core and ends at the foot of the Don Valley PArkway.
It is elevated and aging. There are constant discussion as to what to do with it, tear it down or repair it or even turn it into a giant pedestrian boulevard.
Pieces of it have a habit of falling down at imopportune moments, thankfully, no serious injuries have happened recently.
