Toronto's public space is constantly under pressure to be redeveloped into something else, usually vertical.
Hence it's little surprise, the larger Public Squares in the City are often civic squares.
Here's an incomplete list:
- Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto City Hall at 100 Queen Street West
- Albert Campbell Square in front of the SCarborough Civic Centre
- Mel Lastman Square in front of the North YOrk Civic Centre
- Yonge-Dundas Square is quasi public space
