DAUNCEY, PTE. HARVEY

Harvey Allan Dauncey was born in 1920 in Parry Sound, the son of Alfred Ernest (Scrimshaw) Dauncey and his mother Sylvia Ann Tilson.

At the time of the 1921 census, the Dauncey family (including Alfred, age 50, Sylvia, age 47 and 11 children, including the youngest Harvey age 6 months) lived in Spence Twp.

Harvey married July 10, 1948 in South River.

In his Discharge Certificate, Harvey was identified as leaving the Service on  December 19, 1944 to return to civil life the “engage in work of national importance”.

He was 24 years, 9 months at the time of discharge.

He was identified as having served in the H.R.M.A. (National Resources Mobilization Act) from May 15, 1942 – December 18, 1944.

Harvey died in 1990 and is buried in Spence Cemetery.
