Patrick John Kyle was born May 23, 1897 the son of Richard Joseph and Anna (Hollard) Kyle of Magnetawan.
At the time of the 1901 census, the family was identified as living in Croft Township; but by the time of the 1911 census were shown in Chapman Twp.
Patrick survived the war and in 1921 was shown as living with his parents on Bay Street in Magneawan. He listed his trade as a labourer in 1921.
At the time of enlistment, Patrick identified that he lived in Magnetawan and was a labourer. He listed his next of kin as his mother Annie Kyle, also of Magnetawan.
In his Discharge Certificate, Patrick was identified as having enlisted in the 2nd Depot, 2nd Battalion in Oshawa on January 8, 1918. He was identified as having served in Canada. He was discharged on January 29, 1920.
In July of 1918, Patrick was assigned to the 2nd Battalion C..O.R. (Canadian Garrison Regiment - unit of 13 battalions formed in April 1918 to perform garrison duty in Canada's 13 military districts).
