Edward Errington Nelson was born April 6, 1896, the son of Edward Nelson and Margaret Jane Bell.
At the time of the 1901 and 1911 censuses, the Nelson family lived in Spence Township.
At the time of the signing of his enlisting on May 21, 1918 Edwin identified that he was born in Port Anson and that his next of kin, his father George Nelson, was still living at Port Anson.
Edwin’s Discharge Certificate identifies that he signed up on May 20th 1918 in the 2nd Depot Battalion at Toronto. He was identified as having served in the 15th Battalion in France. He was discharged on July 5, 1919.
In 1922, Edwin married Victoria Grace Downing. The marriage contract was signed in Magnetawan. The intended place of marriage was North Seguin where the bride lived. They had 5 children.
Edwin died July 3, 1975 and is buried in Spence Cemetery.
Edwin Edwin arrived in England on June 21, 1918 on the S.S. Cassandra.
In October he joined the 15th Battalion where he remained until the end of the war.
He returned to Canada, leaving London June 28, 1919.
