Harvey Raaflaub was born in 1919 in Magnetawan to Alfred Ulrich Raaflaub and Anna Louise Reinhart.

At the time of the 1921 census, Harvey was identified as living with his parents in the village of Magnetawan.

He died in 1998 in Magnetawan and is buried in Chapman Cemetery.

His spouse’s name was Joyce Wooley

Joyce died in 2012.

Harvey and Joyce had 5 children, names not given

Harvey wrote 3 notes to Godfrey Grunig’s students.

The first letter, below left, is incomplete. In it Harvey references a friend shot down when he went ‘out the other night’.

The second letter, above right,  was dated March 3, 1945

The third letter, at right, was sent June 22, 1945.
