Statewide
- It is illegal to coast through stop signs on your bike or to bicycle drunk. (California Vehicle Code § 21200)
- It is illegal to possess more than one bear gall bladder. (California Fish and Game Code § 4758)
Yuba County
- It is illegal in Yuba County for a dog to be off the property of its owner unless it is controlled by a leash that is no more than eight feet long. (Yuba County Ordinance Code Title VIII § 8.05.310)
Marysville
- It is illegal in Marysville to swear, make obscene gestures, or use bawdy language in any public place within the hearing range of two or more people. The punishment is a $250 fine. (Marysville Municipal Code § 9.12.040)
- It is illegal to work as a professional photographer in Marysville without a licence or registration. (Marysville Municipal Code § 5.24)
- It is illegal in Marysville to pasture, herd, stake, or tie any animal on city property. (Marysville Municipal Code § 8.04.010)
- It is illegal in Marysville for a horse to be on a sidewalk, except when proceeding directly across the sidewalk. (Marysville Municipal Code § 8.04.100)
- It is illegal in Marysville to persuade or assist a female to visit a whorehouse, but not to persuade or assist a male to visit a whorehouse. Keeping a whorehouse oneself is illegal, but visiting one is not. - It is illegal in Marysville to use or carry a slingshot (concealed or unconcealed). (Marysville Municipal Code § 9.24.010)
- It is illegal for any person other than an on-duty peace officer to open, enter or remove items from a trash container on public or private property in Marysville without written permission from the owner of the container. (Marysville Municipal Code § 9.35.020)
- It is illegal for a person younger than 18 to stand, walk, drive, or ride in any public place in Marysville between 11:00 p.m. and sunrise unless (1) the minor is accompanied by or running an errand for a parent or legal guardian; (2) the minor's parent or legal guardian has assigned another adult to supervise the minor, and the minor is accompanied by or running an errand for that adult; or (3) the minor is lawfully employed and is required to be in the public place during these hours for reasons connected with his or her job. It is also illegal for a parent or legal guardian to assist or knowingly allow a person younger than 18 to disobey this curfew. (Marysville Municipal Code § 9.40.020)
- It is illegal to trick or treat in Marysville after 9:00 p.m. on Halloween. (Marysville Municipal Code § 9.58.020).
- It is illegal in Marysville to play a radio, compact disc player, television, or any similar device in a vehicle at a volume that is audible to a person of normal hearing sensitivity who is more than 25 feet from the vehicle. (Marysville Municipal Code § 10.36.110)
- In Veterans Park and on any street or sidewalk in the area bounded by 1st Street to the south, 8th Street to the north, E Street to the west, and B Street to the east, it is illegal to use roller skates, a skateboard, or any similar wheeled coasting device, except if you're disabled. (Marysville Municipal Code § 10.76.010)
- It is illegal to be in any park or recreation area in Marysville except Beckwourth Riverfront Park Complex at any time between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. It is illegal to be in Beckwourth Riverfront Park Complex at any time between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., except if given permission to camp. (Marysville Municipal Code § 16.04.020)
- In any park or recreation area in Marysville, it is illegal to fly a motorized model airplane or toss horseshoes (or participate in any other "hazardous games"). (Marysville Municipal Code §16.04.030)
- In a multifamily residence in Marysville, it is illegal to have lawn on more than 50% of the landscaped area, or to have any lawn area that is less than eight feet wide and eight feet long. It is also illegal to have decorative rocks, woodchips, hardscape, or other non-living materials on more than 25% of the landscaped area. It is illegal to place nonporous material (such as solid sheets of plastic) under the mulch. (Marysville Municipal Code § 18.86.060 and 18.86.070)
- In a commercial or industrial development or a model home in Marysville, it is illegal to have lawn on more than 25% of the landscaped area, or to have any lawn area that is less than eight feet wide and eight feet long.
